Movie Review: "Zootopia"

Movie Review: "Zootopia"

by Wilson Kosasih

Do you guys ever thought that animals would evolve and live like humans do? Well, it's all here! Ever since it's trailers have been released, i've been daring to watch this. I was satisfied by this movie, and maybe one of Disney's best after all this time, not that 2013's overrated movie (with snow), yeah you know which one is it. Anyway, let's talk more about this movie!

It was told that long time ago, animals have two sides, pedators and preys, where preys are always hunted by the predators. But as the time goes on, they evolve and tries to live side by side in Zootopia. And somewhere far away, a bunny named after Judy Hopps (Ginnifer Goodwin), a rather optimistic one, plans to be a cop in Zootopia. When she succeeds to be one, the truth is not as beautiful as she wants it to be. She then meets a sly fox, Nicholas Wilde (Jason Bateman) and receives an order from Chief Bogo (Idris Elba) to find Mr. Otterton. And so, the adventure of Judy and Nick begins.

First off, the story, it is unique and has too many plot twists for an animated movie. The story build up is okay, not too fast and not too slow, it allows viewers to take a grip on how the story is building. Characters backstories are told absolutely good, so the viewers have some info on what makes those characters they are now. Every characters are unique, from the optimistic bunny, a sly fox, to a sloth who names Flash. The best thing from this movie is, it has a reference scene to the Godfather movie!

Next stop is the voice actors, they have done a good job. Especially Jason Bateman, who was known as a funny guy in every of his movies, who voices as Nick Wilde. Every single characters are unique, special and memorable. For example, when Judy and Nick are in hurry and they need to run a license plate, they meet Flash (Raymond S. Persi), a sloth, to search it for them. With that only scene for this movie, Flash is one of the most memorable character in this movie. Oh, i almost forgot, Shakira has her voice too in this movie, as Zootopia's superstar, Gazelle.

Flash
Overall, with smooth animation, memorable characters, beautiful soundtracks and too much amount of fun, you guys definitely have to check this movie out! It will be released on March 4, 2016 (United States). Last thing, the moral lesson from this movie is, "You can be whatever you want to be as long as you don't get imitated by others". Have a good day guys!
