Movie Review: "Captain America: Civil War"

Movie Review: "Captain America: Civil War"

by Wilson Kosasih

"Who's side are you on?"
That's probably what you will think over and over again. What's happening? Why are they fighting over?
"Captain America: Civil War" is the third movie from the series, "Captain America: First Avenger" on 2011 and "Captain America: Winter Soldier" on 2014, both has blown the box office. This year is probably Marvel and DC, as both giant comic companies release two of their major movies.

Not long after the battles against Ultron, the Avengers are facing huge problems as Captain America aka Steve Rodgers (Chris Evans) and his team try to stop a terrorist attack on Lagos, Nigeria, but ending in killing innocent people. While Iron Man aka Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) tries to convince Captain America to sign the "Sokovia Accord" to let the governors to take over the Avengers, an explosion is caused at Vienna, where the convention is held. The Avengers then splits into two sides, Captain America's team, and Iron Man's team. They try to stop each other's objective as the truth about Tony Stark's parents emerges.

The story itself is quite simple, as Marvel want to reach as many viewers as possible, and as an intro to other Marvel's movies, like The Avengers movie next year. Most of the casts are back, like Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, and Scarlett Johansson. Some guys like Chadwick Boseman (Black Panther) and Tom Holland (Spiderman). Especially Spiderman, i was quite surprised when Marvel decided to show off Spiderman on the trailer. Why? Because it blows off the surprise factor. Sure, it makes us want to watch the movie even more, but not because we would want to know more about the story itself, but it's more like, "Wow, there's Spiderman in it, we gotta watch it."

Action sequences are suspectingly amazing as always. I enjoy every scenes from it, from something like the chase between Captain America, Winter Soldier, and Black Panther. To, the big fight at the airport. And by the way, Ant-Man aka Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) is quite funny. This movie too, has the best one-liners i've ever seen. Casts has been doing exceptionally well in this sequel of "Captain America: Civil War". Special effects aren't that good here, as the vfx on "Avengers" is better. One thing i have to criticise, Spiderman's costume is horrible and i questions why is it animated? It looks even worse than it was. One more thing, Stan Lee's cameo is worth waiting for.

Overall, if you love Marvel's movies and not giving a damn about stories, watch this. It will worth your time. But for those who are movie freaks, you will have a lot of things to complain.

As always, thanks for your support! Feel free to comment and stay tuned for another reviews!
