Anime Review: "Kimi no na wa"

Anime Review: "Kimi no na wa"

by Wilson Kosasih

We've seen a lot of amazing anime movies, such as Spirited Away, a beautiful classic, Wolf Children, and maybe The Boy and The Beast. But this anime gets a special place in my list, because? Because this movie mix meaningful dialogs with deep story and amazing animation style.

The story is set 30 days after a shooting star has fallen for the very first time in a thousand years in Japan. Mitsuha, a high school girl living in the country side, wants to live in Tokyo City because she's tired of the repetitive life she's living and needs more spice. And then there is Taki, a high school boy living the city life with his friends and is a part- time worker at an Italian restaurant, with a strong interest in fine arts involving architecture, who also needs a break of his familiar life. One night, Mitsuha, Taki, and all of Japan witnessed the legendary comet with of only a few accounts known for. And that very night, Mitsuha dreamt of herself as a young boy in Tokyo and Taki dreamt of himself as a young girl attending high school in the country side. Is there a secret behind their dreams? And does the comet that passes by only once every thousand years have anything to do with it?

Anime movies never cease to amaze me. With its limited time, it never disappoints the audiences. Especially this one, it has an amazing animation style, like i said earlier, and the plot doesn't advance that fast, where you expect this kind of anime movie to be. Other things such as narration will make you feel like you are inside this world. It's unique story is one of a kind and i don't think there will be a better one soon enough.

Voice actors make each characters unique too, with each of them has their own backstory. It's like in real life, the difference is you know what they are facing. Things don't always go well for the characters, and this anime movie shows the other side of life too.

Overall, this is definitely one of the best anime movies ever made. If you had the chance to watch this, you should!

As always, thanks for your support! Feel free to comment and stay tuned for another reviews!
