Game Review: "Mafia III"

Movie Review: "Mafia III"

Years later after one of the best games of all time, Mafia II, comes a sequel about Lincoln Clay, a Vietnam war veteran, who wants to take a revenge on Sal Marcano,  the one who kills his closest friends. But, it won't be easy. So, Lincoln takes help from John Donovan, a CIA agent, to kill Sal's henchmen from the bottom to the top.

A classic tale of revenge, with a classic settings on New Bordeaux (based on New Orleans). Everything is old here, from cars, radios, even racism is still strong here. And since we are using an African-American character, there are too much racism on him. But what brings a game to be better than a critically-acclaimed predecessor? You guys will soon find out on this review.

After couple of hours playing this game, i feel bored. New Bordeaux sure is pretty, yes, but the missions are too repetitive and boring. It's just taking through a racket and another one. The only thing that is forcing me to play this game till the end is to know how the story goes, since Mafia II ended with a cliffhanger. And, AIs in this game is the worst, especially on a shootout, which makes it another ordinary yet un-fun experience.

Asides from that, there's so much to collect here in New Bordeaux, from Playboy magazines, to music albums sure will make you busy going around town. Side missions are sometimes fun, but still doesn't make the game a whole lot better. Graphics are doing so-so on PS4, where some areas seem to have a beautiful scenery, and some are so poorly optimized. This seems like a rushed-unfinished game (lots of bugs as well) with a lot of potential to be better. It's just a disappointment after a great game goes to a poor game like this.

My final verdict: Mafia fans will sure be disappointed with this game. Since they are waiting for a long time for this game, and what they get is disappointment. Story is the only thing that makes me want to play this game. Missions are to repetitive, and too much bugs after a big size patch (2 GB+) and they still can't fix it.

As always, thanks for your support! Feel free to comment and stay tuned for another reviews!
