Movie Review: "John Wick Chapter 2"

Movie Review: "John Wick Chapter 2"

by Wilson Kosasih

John Wick is back. And he's been better, harder, and more badass than before. It's first movie, John Wick (2014) gained so much success worldwide. Keanu Reeves has been praised for his commitment in his role. Will this second installment be as good as it's predecessor?
(WARNING: This review may contain some spoilers.)

Story continues straight away from it's first movie where some Russian mob kills John Wick's (Keanu Reeves) dog and takes his car. He finally finds their headquarters and take his car back, but with style. After that job, John decides to retire, but Santino D'Antonio (Ricardo Scamario) gives him an offer he can't refuse. To kill Santino's sister for him to take his sister's place as the leader. But it never turns out to be an easy job, ain't it?

If you haven't watched it's first movie, you have to watch it. It's as epic as this sequel. But this sequel has done so many things that are better here. For example, Keanu Reeves has better martial arts skills and how to use guns better. From how to aim better, how to reload, and etc. And i really look up to this kind of movies where those actors know what are they doing, instead of random punches and kicks to some bad guys. Moreover, every action scenes didn't use any CGI (at least from what i saw, except gores). Every action scenes are perfectly executed, with no flaws at all. This is simply one of the best action movies out there.

But not all is well. They have got to do better with the story. It is better than the first one, but still, it's plot is no fun at all, so predictable, and boring more or less. But it's all good, because all those action-perfected scenes make the audiences goes crazy! Soundtracks are brilliantly made and matches every occasion.

Overall, if you love the first one, you guys will definitely love this more! It has twice the suspense, twice the action, and Keanu Reeves is more badass than ever! Watch it now on theaters near you!
