Movie Review: "Lego Batman Movie"

Movie Review: "Lego Batman Movie"

by Wilson Kosasih

Batman is getting his own Lego movie after the success of The Lego Movie (2014), we are all expecting that this will again entertain us with it's silly jokes, easter eggs, and much much more!

After Batman (Will Arnett) hurts Joker's (Zach Galifianikis) feelings by saying that he's not his arch-enemies, Joker is trying to get his revenge by releasing the baddest villains from the Phantom Zone. Batman gets help from his butler, Alfred Pennyworth (Ralph Fiennes), Dick (Michael Cera), and the new commissioner, Barbara Gordon (Rosario Dawson) to once again rescue Gotham from harm.

The plot is simplistic, since this is a movie for kids. But it sure will be enjoyed by all ages since it's jokes are funny as hell, great visuals, and there are too much cameos from DC Comics superheroes and villains to count for. And don't forget that Batman has his own favorite songs while kicking his enemies' asses. It is super fun, because this version of Batman is not as serious as Batman in comics and movies. Kids will sure love this as much as i do.

Meanwhile, Will Arnett's potrayal as Batman is so perfect and suits him well with his heavy-pitched Batman-style voice. On the other side, Zach as Joker didn't really impress me that much. There's no Joker feel with his voice and no that identic villain laugh. Supporting characters all have done a great job potraying their characters, especially Michael Cera as Dick Grayson aka Robin, he's everywhere, he's funny, and he suits Robin's character very well.

Overall, this is one of the best "Batman" movie out there. It's smart, funny, and action sequences are done well. You guys have to watch this after two disappointing DC movies. And well, this movie suits everyone from a kid to an adult.
