Watch the trailer down here:
A Brilliant Young Mind, originally titled "X+Y" is a British-movie focuses on the math prodigy, Nathan Ellis (Asa Butterfield) who has trouble understanding people, and rather has his time alone. But he finds maths comfortable. The doctor stated him as "Special" and he will do good things in the future, while other people see him as a weird boy. He then meets Martin Humphreys (Rafe Spall) att high school and Nathan learns more maths from him. Until he is chosen to represent UK International Mathematical Olympiad, Nathan goes on an unexpected journey, experiencing something new, and even feels the way of love.
Asa Butterfield, the highly acclaimed British actor, really nails the act this time. He acts as Nathan very smoothly and very good. Expecting of how bad his act in the Enders' Game (in my opinion), he really shows how good he can be in this movie. The director also gives the supporting actors quite a lot of playing time, which is good. The other thing is the story, i haven't mentioned this before, but the director, Morgan Matthews, directs this movie based on the documentary "Beautiful Young Minds", where the documentary focuses on the British team competing in the 2006 International Mathematical Olympiad.
The other thing i would like to say is, the movie's scenes was mostly taken in Taiwan, where the team has their practice with the Chinese team. Taiwan really is beautiful place, and the director tries to show it in the movie and as well introduces Taiwan's culture. This movie has the drama, comedy, and romance that you couldn't find in any movie ever, and it surely it's a beautiful movie that could touch everyone's heart.
Overall, this is a movie you should watch. The movie is inspirational, heart-touching, and romantic, will be released in UK on 11 September 2015. That's all from me guys, have a good time reading this post, and don't forget to share!
