Movie Review: "Attack on Titan (進撃の巨人)"

Another successful anime is adapted to live action movie. The anime itself was published in 2013 and was a big success in Japan and all around the world. Will the live action movie continue the success? I'm going to review it for you.

Going straight to the story. The story itself wasn't too different with the anime and the manga series where humans tried to protect themselves from harm by building walls surrounding them. But the walls won't be able to protect them forever, this happens when the Titans attack the town where Eren (Haruma Miura), Mikasa (Kiko Mizuhara), and Armin (Kanata Hongo) live. It was chaos and many people were dead getting eaten by the Titans. Two years later, Eren joins the Survey Corps and was trained to be a cadet. The Survey Corps has plans to close the hole with explosives to that the Titans can't get further to town. And so, Eren's adventure begins.

As a fan from the anime, i was completely disappointed with the live action movie. The actings were bad, there were no similarities from the actors with the anime, bad visual effects, and the story wasn't that organized. I know that the directors tried to change the story a little bit, but it didn't make the movie better, it was worse. They cut the story too much even though the movie is made into two parts. And some of the characters from the anime and manga weren't shown in the movie. 

The visual effects are the worst. Titans are badly made, the gore is even worse. I don't know if they going to make the second part if the first part is this worse. This movie could have a 2-hour duration to tell all the story, but instead the movie is only 1.5 hour long. I am greatly disappointed in it. The movie could have been better, but it turns into one of the worse anime/manga adaptation movie i've ever watched.

Overall, this movie is really bad for an anime/manga adaptation. If you are the anime/manga fan, don't watch it. It is really bad. But if you are a moviegoers, you may watch this movie.
