Movie Review: "Passengers"
Movie Review: "Passengers"
by Wilson Kosasih
Passengers stars two of the most talented and uprising actors, Chris Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence. With two of them in one movie, what could go wrong?
Warning: Review may contain spoiler.
The Starship Avalon brings 5000 passengers and 200 crews to Homestead II from Earth. It is suppose to arrive after 120 years, but suddenly Jim Preston's (Chris Pratt) hibernation pod malfunctions and causing him to wake before arrival time. He spends his time alone for a year and then he meets Aurora Lane (Jennifer Lawrence), a writer, and decides to wake her up. They starts a life together on the ship but it never ends happy for them.
How the hell would you mind if you stuck on a plane with a woman as gorgeous as Jennifer Lawrence? Well, i wouldn't mind myself, so does Chris Pratt in this movie. It's like a space-romance that kind of thing, and both of them has chemistry, but not that great as lovers. Besides, story is so incredibly boring and somehow interesting on the last part of the movie. Arthur played by Charlie Sheen bring out a new atmosphere between them two. He plays as a android-bartender and tends to lighten up some awkward moments in the movie.
Story is so boring, but damn, visuals are on a different level. Every environment is so detail and you won't see any flaws on them. All the techs are so way into the future and it looks so cool. And i do hope some of them are real in the future.
Overall, this movie is so mediocre, you'll fall asleep by it's boring and so ordinary. Even it's stunning visuals and brilliant actors couldn't save this movie.
