Movie Review: "Ant-Man"

Who is Ant-Man? What's making him so special? From the title, you can see that this superhero can turn himself as small as an ant and as strong as an ant. So, the story goes like this, Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) is a thief, a good one, He's a divorced man and were forced to leave his daughter with his wife because he can't pay the money. To do that, Scott need to rob a place, and when his friend told him about this one place to rob, what he finds is something unbelievable. He then was contacted by Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) and tries to convince him to wear the suit and save the world from Darren Cross (Corey Stroll) a.k.a Yellowjacket to destroy the world.

The story is quite plain, just like the other superhero movie who wants to save the world from the bad guy. I never known the Ant-Man even exist in comic books after i watch this movie. The story was like i said just now, plain and simple. But there's a few interesting points in the movie, Like the action sequence, it's quite good that the power of Ant-Man utilizes the power of the ants to help him achieve the objective. The CGI is overall okay and doesn't make you feel this movie sucks or whatever.

Paul Rudd's acting wasn't so good in my opinion, yeah he acts as a thief in the movie but his acting is just blend for me, not good enough as i expect more from him. But rather than that, Michael Pena's act as supporting role in the movie makes me laugh throughout the movie, he is just hilarious and makes the movie feels more alive. And everyone knows Michael Douglas, his acting was as good as his other act. He acts as Hank Pym here, who owns the Pym Tech and has concealed the truth to everyone, even his wife's death to his daughter.

Overall, this movie is quite okay to watch with the whole family as the story is simple and quite easy to understand. The acting of  the actor and actresses aren't quite so good as i hoped, but it all were fixed by the good action sequence and the CGI.
