Movie Review: "The Martian"
Movie Review: "The Martian"
by Wilson Kosasih
America's going to save Matt Damon once again, at least in movies. As you know, America has spent that much money to save him in "Saving Private Ryan" and "Interstellar". And for the third time, he's going to be saved again, this time on Mars. The story follows Mark Watney (Matt Damon) who goes on a mission with Ares III to Mars, Matt unknowingly hit by a storm and presumed dead by his crew. With the lives of the crew at stake, commander of the mission, Mellisa Lewis (Jessica Chastain) is forced to leave Mars. Mark then tries to survive with the things left in the habitat, learn how to crop on a land that doesn't grow anything, maintain oxygen level, and even how to make water. Fortunately, someone in NASA knows that Mark Watney is still alive and then they plan on how to bring him home.
The movie is based on 2011's science-fiction novel, "The Martian". And i tell you, this movie is brilliant. Why? I don't know if anything in this movie is legit, but it makes sense anyway. On how he grows the crops, and on how the gravity in Mars. But however, this movie is still amazing to watch, and it is supported with Matt Damon's quality acting. elegant visual effects, some funny jokes and on how the director turns the novel into a masterpiece.
And let's not forget about the supporting actors. Although they have less screen time, they are actually the key to save Mark from Mars. Those supporting actors and actresses like Jessica Chastain, Kate Mara, Michael Pena are those who make this movie complete in my opinion.
Overall, you guys should watch this movie since this is one of the best movies i've watched in 2015, and i think it deserves to be nominated for the Oscars.
