Movie Review: "Everest"

Movie Review: "Everest"

by Wilson Kosasih

Another week, another movie to review. This time i'm going to review a movie which is inspired by a true story about how hard it is to reach the tallest mountain in the world, Mount Everest. The movie itself was titled "Everest" and is one of the most beautiful movies i've ever seen. Story is based on the real events of the 1996's Mount Everest disaster which led to deaths of the several climbers. Rob Hall (Jason Clarke), the leader of the hiking expedition called the Adventure Consultants who has the job to bring his clients to the top of the Everest each year. One of the clients is Beck Weathers (Josh Brolin), a doctor, and has the will to reach the top of Mount Everest. Meanwhile, Scott Fisher (Jake Gyllenhaal), is Rob Hall's competitor and wants to beat Rob to the Mount Everest. The hike was never going to be easy, and the way down wasn't that easy either. Those climbers have to face the uncertainty of the Everest's weather, lack of oxygen, and the cold weather.

Movie was based on true story and the director brought it perfectly, the way on how it executed was perfect. Actors act amazingly, visual effects are great and the story are intense. You'll never know what will happen next as of the weather on Mount Everest, it could be sunny at some point and suddenly there's storm the next couple of minutes.

Supporting actors like Sam Worthington doesn't really have that much impact to the story, as it was based on the true story movie, but the director could have added some kind of side stories to make the movie better, but it's just my opinion though. As i mentioned earlier, visual effects in this movie is amazing, the angle of the camera is decent too. The thing this movie lacks is, the intro takes too long and introduction of the characters are too short.

But overall, the movie is decent enough and visual effects are amazing. Actors are doing great, and i believe this movie could make it to the top of the box office. That's it from me guys, as always please share the post if you are enjoying it.

Thank you, and have a good day!
