Movie Review: "Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials"

Movie Review: "Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials"

by Wilson Kosasih

This movie has incredible story, great acting, but not so good visual effects. Continues from the Maze Runner, which was released on 2014, tells us about the follow-through on how Thomas (Dylan O'Brien) and his friends get out from the maze, they were saved by military soldiers, then get brought to a bunker, or sort of. They were given place to live, foods to eat, and everything went smoothly. But then, Thomas met Aris (Jacob Lofland), and he was shown that something's wrong has happened there. Thomas then tried to get out from the bunker, and tried to search for a group called the "Right Arm", convinced they would save them. The next thing is, they were chased by W.K.C.D (the organization who tried to kill Thomas and his friends), explosions everywhere, and getting chased by the Cranks (like a zombie or sort of).

The story itself is incredible, it's interesting but easy to understand. It has many plot twists though, and i recommend you to watch the first movie to completely understand the sequel. For the one who already read the novels, they wouldn't have any difficulty with the story. The acting wasn't all bad, main characters plays the movie very good, while supporting characters like Minho (Ki Hong Lee)
makes good of his chance, his performance was good enough.

Visual effects in this movie is bad, not the worst that i've seen though, it could be better in my opinion but the visual effects weren't polished good enough consider they have only a couple of months developing the movie. The soundtrack in this movie is great, it catches up with the scenes completely.

Overall, it's better than the prequel and has much to offer. Can't wait for the third installment and you have to watch this movie! As always, thank you for your attention, have a nice day, feel free to comment and don't forget to share! Ciao!
