Movie Review: "No Escape"

Movie Review: "No Escape"

Watch the trailer here:

"Wrong place at the wrong time", I think the saying suits the main character of this movie. The story begins when Jack Dwyer (Owen Wilson) is flying to South East Asia (it's Thailand in my opinion), but the director insists not to show where the movie is filmed, with his wife, Annie (Lake Bell) and their two daughters. Upon landing, they meet an oddly-friendly guy who comes with the name Hammond (Pierce Brosnan), who is willingly giving them ride to their hotel, since they are going to the same hotel. From here on, Jake and his family are brought into the chaos because the locals don't like how the foreigners are controlling them. Apparently, the company which Jack works for is the main problem which set off the chaos and the locals are starting to kill the foreigners.

Just like I said in the beginning of this post, Jack and his family are at the wrong place at the wrong time. The chaos started right at the day they arrived. The story is not that special though, moreover the visual effects from the movie is not that good. But, the way on how the story goes on makes the movie more intense than ever. You'll never know what comes next, and you'll never know what will happen then. Even though the ending of the movie was a little bit disappointing, and how less play time for Pierce Brosnan is some of this movie's weaknesses. Owen Wilson's acting is not bad though, but since I've always watched him in comedy movies, it's odd to see him plays in this kind of movie.

But other than what I've said above, the movie is quite enjoyable and full action-packed from the beginning of the movie till the end. I don't know why the other reviewers are giving a bad score for this movie, but in my opinion this movie ain't that bad. if just the visual effects are better and the story is more progressing, i'm sure this movie will be on top of the box office.

Overall, you should watch this movie but don't expect that much. The movie is addressed to casual viewers. But, don't bring the kids to watch this movie, because the amount of violence, blood, and gore in this movie are disturbing.

That's it from me, thank you for reading this post. And don't forget to share, feel free to comment, and have a nice day!
